Краткое содержание. Одной из главных экономических новостей  новозеландских газет являются  результаты   только что опубликованного  международного отчета “The World Apple Report” , в котором  Новая Зеландия занимает  первое место    в рейтинге стран, выращивающих и импортирующих яблоки среди 33 крупнейших стран-производителей этого фрукта.

Рыночная стоимость яблочного бизнеса Новой Зеландии в настоящее время  оценивается в 700 миллионов долларов, а к 2022 году ставятся амбициозные цели сделать этот бизнес миллиардным. В рейтинге  “The World Apple Report” на втором месте находится Чили, а на третьем- США.

The World Apple Report has ranked New Zealand's $700 million apple industry first and the world's most competitive performer over 33 major apple producing countries.

New Zealand is ahead of Chile and the United States now, the latter slipped from second to third place.

Officials says that the country is now well ahead of achieving the goal to become a billion-dollar industry by 2022.

This year harvest is fantastic - the size and quality of fruit are outstanding and the industry has produced another record earning export crop.

Provinces are prospering from the apple industry success. There are hundreds of full-time job across the sector in all areas including production, post harvest, logistics, marketing and exports.
